None of U Know my Grandfather REMBERT BROWN. But we all should. Mr. Brown at the tender age of 90yrs. old (still fighting the Good Fight!). Wuz recently acknowledged for HALF of his efforts of strengthening,and providing Unity in Nassau County. His determination goes unmatched to this day! Brief summary: He is 1 of 9 childern,His father past when he was 11yrs. old, instantly he knew his role,He became a provider. He worked in the fields for cents! sometimes making jus enough for meals and fabric for his siblings. Mr. Brown as a young adolecent joined our U.S. Army where he served through several Wars including WW2 he honorably served for 20yrs. (hats off to U). When he returned home from service. Mr. Brown with friends and other influencial people manifested his Humanity for others by helping promising young men of color. By assisting them in joining Our Reserves! Why is this so "Hero"ic. He did this for the parents of these children who were deathly scared of Losing their Child or Children in the Horrific Vetenam War! The Draft in those days was like a Death Sentence! Shortly after that time past He promised his Mother, he would build her a house of her own! The Empowered and Blessed Man he is went on to become Chief Editor of Newsday and served them honorably for 19yrs!!!! He made Good on the Promise he made to his Mother in half that time,and built the house that She soon after departed in. After all that he is still serving his community by accepting the role of financial manager for the Presbytian Memorial Church in Roosevelt N.Y. for last 40yrs. His 90th celebration made the pages of Newsday, the day before Thanksgiving 2011! Here's the thing my Grandfather is one of Few men left in this world Who Personifies (check my spelling) the Definition of a MAN's Man! Men like this Shined Hope and trust in ones Faith, the virtual wind beneath our wings to soar to a Better/Brighter future! Yes! these R Huge Shoes to fill! But it's our journey that defines our Path as well as our Purpose! If U choose to Follow his lead,and U will be able to produce, The Strongest and Proudest (is that a word) children and grandchildren like myself! : ) I Love U Grandpa/Gradma Brown unconditionally!!
